ScrapHappy Saturday - Bountifully Bright Blue

Continuing the Bright Blue theme for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge with a quilt top that I really like.
I wasn't sure I'd have enough of the white with the blue flowers, had to cut two pieces on the bias instead of the straight of grain, but when I sewed them all together I couldn't tell when I put them in. 

I thought I'd never get done piecing the 17 nine-patches but they really didn't take that long.  My blue scrap box is really starting to look empty.  I might have to switch it with the green boxes soon.  I have lots of green scraps left. 

 

 I was too late in getting the green quilt done so I thought I'd add it today.  I just did a simple decorative stitch around the four patches.  When it was done it had a nice puffy look to it.

Scraphappy Saturday Challenge - Bright Blue

For this month of scrappin our hostess chose blue but then divided the blues into three different categories.......bright blue, pastel blue, and turquoise blue.  Diving into my blue scraps and trying to divide them up was a challenge in itself.  My blue scraps are really dwindling.  For some reason, since I'm not a blue person, a few years ago I had more blues then you could shake a stick at and now, after a few blue themed quilts for graduations, I find the scraps are disappearing at an alarming rate.  Which is a good thing, I think, as most of them are 20 to 30 years old.

I tried a lot of different scraps before I found the perfect 8 (not that it's perfect perfect).  This is a very fast block to make now that I've made 5 of them.
