Scraphappy Saturday - Orange Oddments

Another, and last, Saturday for Orange.  I just loved doing this quilt and it's so nice not having to match colors, just pick the next orange piece up and make sure it isn't the same as the one you're putting it next to.  

When thinking of a name for this quilt, I had to go to the "O's" in the dictionary.  Just couldn't come up with a descriptive word that started with an "O".  When I came to oddments the definition fit perfect:  a remnant.  I used a lot of remnants of pieces of orange to make this quilt.

This is one of my favorites, so far, though I'm not real happy with the boarder.  It's just too light and doesn't frame the quilt like I prefer.  Heading to the store to find something that is a better frame, and will do for the backing.

Scraphappy Saturday - Orange

 It's March and the new color for Scraphappy Saturday  is ORANGE.  I just love orange and was really looking forward to this color.  What a surprise when I started looking at my orange scraps and found out I didn't have very many. 

 

 And the grading from light to dark just wasn't very good.  My light oranges almost look more pink then orange but put next to pink they are definitely orange.   Also, the difference between yellow-orange and red-orange seemed to be miles apart.  I had a very orange piece that just didn't go with these. 

 I really love the brightness of this umbrella.  So cheery.  It would be so much fun to run thru a gentle rain flourishing this bright orange umbrella.  Can't you just see the rain drops dancing on top of it?
