Scraphappy Saturday - Orange Oddments

Another, and last, Saturday for Orange.  I just loved doing this quilt and it's so nice not having to match colors, just pick the next orange piece up and make sure it isn't the same as the one you're putting it next to.

When thinking of a name for this quilt, I had to go to the "O's" in the dictionary.  Just couldn't come up with a descriptive word that started with an "O".  When I came to oddments the definition fit perfect:  a remnant.  I used a lot of remnants of pieces of orange to make this quilt.

This is one of my favorites, so far, though I'm not real happy with the boarder.  It's just too light and doesn't frame the quilt like I prefer.  Heading to the store to find something that is a better frame, and will do for the backing.

Hop on over to soscrappy and see what others have done with orange.

  1. Such a pretty quilt! I get what you are saying about the border though... it seems to need more orange and less white.

  2. I think it's beautiful the way it is. The only thing I'd add is a black piping or ric rac between the white border edge and the final printed border. I love your orange blocks.

  5. Your quilt looks great! The border fabric isn't that bad, but I agree that something brighter would add more punch to the quilt.

  7. Love this orange and white quilt top! How about a strong orange binding to keep it all in. I like the border fabric.
